Since 2004, the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Universitätsverlage (Working Group of University Presses) has connected numerous publishers and publishing institutions from Germany, Austria and Italy.

The aim of the working group is to support publishers in representing their interests externally and to promote the knowledge exchange.

The annual meetings serve the exchange and discussion of current topics. Each year the host is a different publishing organisation. In 2019 the meeting took place on April 3 and 4, 2019 in Hamburg.
