With great pleasure we take note that the editors Prof. Ulrike Verch and Prof. Christine Gläser (HAW Hamburg) and their authors received the TIR-Award for the development of a student open access journal. The API Magazin was a pilot co-developed with and implemented in the project Modern Publishing within the programm Hamburg Open Science.

The Young Talent Award is presented annually by the journal b.i.t.online, Schweitzer Fachinformationen and the Conference of Information and Library Science Education and Study Programmes (KIBA), Section 7 of the dbv and Training Commission of the German Society for Information and Knowledge. It honours student team achievements that make an innovative contribution to the concrete solution of questions of digital transformation and the shaping of the digital society in professional practice.

The editorial staff of API Magazin has already begun preparing the second issue which is scheduled to appear in June 2020. As additional support we have developed an online training course according to digital teaching to introduce students to publishing with Open Journal Systems.
